In Loving Memory of Larrie Dudenhoeffer

Posted on February 4th, 2025 at 10:22 AM

Klein Plating Works is devastated to announce the passing of our Former President Larrie Dudenhoeffer who lost his year-long battle with cancer on February 2, 2025.

Larrie Dudenhoeffer was a dedicated father, friend, and businessman. He started at Klein Plating in 1959 under his uncle until he became the third-generation owner in 1981. Larrie skillfully led the company until he passed the mantle to his son, Joe, in 2013, but he continued to serve Klein by being an active member of the Board of Directors as well as a valuable advisor. Outside of Klein, Larrie was a member of many clubs in our community including the Aviation Club and Electro Platers Society. He was an avid golfer who with the help of his brother, Jon, founded the Cathedral Prep Rambler Golf Classic in 1989. After retiring, Larrie dedicated his time to spending as much time as possible with his family. His favorite things included traveling with his family, decorating for Christmas, and he had a true passion for cars.

Larrie was a genuine gentleman whose warm smile and gentle nature endeared him to all who met him. He is survived and dearly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, his children, grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larrie was devout Catholic whose faith never wavered during his courageous fight with cancer.

Thank you, Larrie, from all of us here at Klein Plating for all you've built and all you've dedicated to the business. You will be dearly, dearly missed.

Friends and family may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie on Thursday, February 6th from 3 until 7 pm. They are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace, 2401 W. 38th St., Erie on Friday at 10 AM. Burial is to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Larrie’s favorite charity; St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
